Internship
We are excited to be offering TWO Internships for 2023/24.
Our internship is a one year, up to full-time placement for 18-25 year olds, giving emerging leaders the opportunity to learn, grow and discover across two different ministry areas: Kids & Youth.
LEARN through personal disciplines, academic study, sharing with others and hands on ministry experience.
GROW in knowledge, confidence and relationship with God and others.
DISCOVER more of what is involved in leading volunteers, caring for young people/adults and engaging with the wider church family as well as those beyond the walls of the church.
What Do The Different Areas Focus On?
Kids
This intern would have the opportunity to serve alongside our children’s worker, Julieanne, to reach the next generation for Jesus. There would be opportunities to be involved across a range of kids ministries at Windsor such as First steps, Joyful Noise, Parents & Toddler, Friday Night Shine and Junior Church. Additionally they would be involved in organising residential trips, special events and partnering with local schools.
Youth
This intern would have the opportunity to serve alongside our youth pastor, Mark, to connect with young people and those who influence them; disciple young people into a growing relationship with Jesus; and equip leaders to be the best they can be. As well as organising residentials and events, you would be involved in our mentoring programme.

WHEN DOES IT BEGIN AND HOW LONG DOES IT RUN?
The internship begins in September 2023, and ends on 31 July 2024.
CAN I WORK OR STUDY WHILE INTERNING?
We are offering three up to full-time internships (e.g. 12 x 3hr sessions) however understand each persons circumstance will be different therefore have designed the internship to be flexible. You may wish to work part time, alongside serving at Windsor Baptist Church for a minimum of 6 x 3hr sessions (18 hours) per week. Due to the in-built study element, we would advise against studying another course at the same time.
WHAT WOULD A TYPICAL WEEK LOOK LIKE?
We hope twelve sessions (full time) would break down to focus on different elements, for example: four study sessions; four prep sessions and four contact sessions. We do require interns to be generally available on Fridays & Sundays.
The internship can be tailored to the needs and interests of the individual, for example: allowing exploration of other ministries such as schools work, evangelism, pastoral care and mission.
WHAT’S INVOLVED IN THE STUDY ELEMENT?
Study would be through the Irish Baptist College for a minimum of 2 sessions per week and options range from day release non-accredited foundational modules (AS Level) through to an accredited Graduate Diploma (degree level). Each semester runs for 12 weeks and includes an ‘Evangelism Week’ where you are able to experience evangelism in a different context. The study options will be discussed and agreed before starting.
HOW MUCH DOES THE INTERNSHIP COST?
Windsor will cover the cost of the internship, including college fees for the day release non-accredited foundational modules (up to £690). We ask interns to cover any additional costs or fees related to their selected study option.
WILL WBC COVER MY EXPENSES?
The internship is unpaid, however there is a monthly £100 living allowance for each intern to cover basics for the duration of the internship.
WHAT EXPERIENCE DO I NEED?
Interns have the potential to have a significant influence in the lives of many adults, young people and children. You do not need any existing qualifications or experience but a keen interest in the role you are applying for will be essential.
